    He wasn’t really a robot, technically, he was an Auton, but that doesn’t really count here because that person was specifically asking how a robot grew up with Amy and created a child with her. (Answer: because it never happened.) :P

    Yes, he was an Auton when he protected the Pandorica for 2,000 years, but after the Doctor rewrote the universe, he went back to being human.
